Friday 29 June 1917
Raining hard when I woke up & kept on raining all day. Rather miserable weather under canvas. Slept till 9.30. Went over to aerodrome & did some jobs before lunch. After lunch went back to the aerodrome till 4 p.m. Back to camp & changed & drove to Oxford with Sly. Tea at the "Clarendon" & then caught the 5.43 to London. Arrived at 7.30. Taxi to Porchester Terrace. Dinner with Aunty & the girls. It is grand to be with them again. Poor old things, they have had a sad time. Maurice has just gone to France. May God protect the dear old boy & bring him safely through.
