Thursday 15 February 1917
Very weary so slept on till after 11. Breakfast in bed. Got up & taxi to Dunhills & bought a pipe. Bus to the Bank & got some home letters. Mother, Father & Eileen are wonderful. Arranged to cable through the Bank asking if Father got my cables. Bus to British Australasian Office & paid account. Lunch at the Holborn. Taxi to Junior A. [Army] & N. [Navy] & left field boots to be repaired & bought boots & puttees. Taxi to Hotel & packed my things till dinner time. Met poor old Mr. Mann at dinner. Wrote letters till 1 a.m. Cable from home repeated by telephone from Bank. All well & delighted at my transfer.
