Saturday 3 November 1917
Up at 8.30. Thick fog all day. Spent the morning at the sheds. Loafed in the afternoon. Went to dinner at Vidals to meet the elder daughter. Segrave & Piper picked me up & brought me home. Major Davy has arrived and from what I hear he has some wonderful methods. Apparently he believes in much stunting on the ground – I fear he will have to find another flight commander if he wants that done. I am not going to start silly spectacular circus tricks to please anyone!
Cable from Father.
