Monday 10 September 1917
Up at 8.30. Packed up. Went to the aerodrome & handed over the flight to Russell. Generally cleaned things up & said good bye. Left by the 12.20 train & changed at Didcot & Kemble. Arrived at Cirencester about 3. Drove out to Rendcomb with Johnson and reported. After tea went up for a short flight in an RE8. After dinner drove to Cirencester with Sharpe and Seagrave & had a drink at the "Kings Head". Back to bed.
I am to take 'B' Flight – RE8s & BEs. Can't help feeling very sad at leaving the old crowd & my own old flight. It is hard luck to have to leave that when it had planned out so well. I suppose I'll have much the same old battle over again with the RE8 here.
