[Page 27]

Wednesday 3 January 1917
Very windy & cloudy. No flying. Had a good "chase" with Dick before lunch.
In afternoon had a run about with a football with the C.O. & others. Played "Crap" after dinner & won a few francs.
Becke & Simmonds have got the D.S.O. [Distinguished Service Order]
Mitchell has got the M.C. [Military Cross] which is a small enough reward but S.M. Kernot has got it too!! It is a damned shame. The three Portugese that were at Northolt turned up here about midnight!
Cabled to Father.
