Monday 19 March 1917
Up at 9. Very windy & cloudy. Have caught a heavy cold. Up to aerodrome in morning but nothing doing. Went to Croydon on the bike & bought some cough mixture. Back to aerodrome & then to mess to lunch. After lunch walked with Williams to aerodrome & did a few jobs. Back to the "Dell" by tender. Stayed in & wrote letters. The Germans have started a big retreat in France. Bapaume, Peronne, Roye, Nesle & Noyon are ours again!
