[Page 183]

Friday 8 June 1917
Up at 7 for early flying. Gave Brown some dual. At aerodrome till 9.30 in evening. Did about 2½ hours flying in all. A Hun on a Curtiss had an appalling crash colliding with a tree but escaped with a broken arm. His passenger got a cut on the head.
The greatest "push" of all started between Ypres & Armentiers [Armentieres]. An enormous success, as it has already flattened the Ypres Salient. Dear old Bryan is in the midst of it. I hope he will be all right.
