Friday 21 September 1917Slept late. Up at 10.30 & taxi to Cox's. Drew some cash & took theatre seats for tonight & tomorrow night. Went to Cooling & Lawrence. Met Winkley at his club & had lunch at the Picadilly with him. Met Billy David there. After lunch got an extra seat for tonight & then did a bit of shopping. Met Luxton & his wife at the Junior A & N [Army & Navy] Stores. Tea at the Troc with Aunty, the girls, Bryan, Helen Barlow & Mrs. Phipps. Taxi home to change & then to dinner at "Petit Riche" where Winkley met us. After dinner to the Alhambra to see "Round the Map" – a good show. Back by tube to Porchester Terrace.
