Friday 31 August 1917
No early flying. Weather still stormy. At aerodrome in the morning after 9 o'clock parade. Parade at 1.45. In afternoon the Colonel came. The C.O. had a long talk to him. I have to go to Bristols though not for a fortnight. It is pretty unreasonable.
Did some flying in afternoon. Took a photo with camera gun diving at the aerodrome at 125 mph – just to prove the futility of that scheme. Gave Beadle some dual in the evening.
Dinner about 8.30. To bed early.
