Saturday 16 June 1917
Up at 7. Gave Barnes dual in RE8. A swim in the river before breakfast. Changed & back to aerodrome to arrange a few things. Took Hodgson up & showed him some stalls & Immelmans. To London by the 12.30 with Cotton. Lunch with him at 3 at the R.A.C. [Royal Automobile Club ?] Taxi to Porchester Terrace to see Aunty & the girls & Maurice. Two wires from the C.O. about particulars for my promotion. A terrific thunder & hail storm from 4.30 till 7.30. All went off to see "Theodore & Co." & supper at the Strand Palace after. Wandered round in search of a taxi. Finally got a tube to Paddington where we found a taxi to take us back to Porchester Terrace.
