The locals are hostile to the British, who once more have to leave in a hurry, accompanied by Colonel Bicharakov. The War in Europe ends but hostilitiese continue in Russia.  Savige returns ill to Bagdad. Judge soldiers on at Vladivostock. Stewart remains in Persia until February 1919. All three eventually return safely to Australia. Stalky retires to poverty, while Bicharakov is rewarded with gold and the Order of the Bath.
