Dear Miss Moore,

Your letter dated 25th Feby came to hand a couple of days ago. I had quite forgotten the episode of this slip of paper and it came rather as a surprise.
Thank you very much indeed for taking the trouble to write such a nice reply to my note.

Im afraid you won't find any of the places I mentioned on a ordinary map. They are only deserted Arab villages on a little river called the Adhaim which runs from the Jabal Hamrin, or Hamrin Hills, and joins the Tigris about 40 miles above Baghdad. It was whilst bathing in the Shatt-el-Adhaim that I discovered your address. Sapper Gissing was with me at the time and I have just
