My dear Mother
You will probably receive two letters together. I wrote before but understand no delivery has been made so far.
Up to the present there is nothing fresh to report.
Have seen Eric every day. He is worse off than I am, for he cannot find very much to do but read. I have plenty to do, & so the time passes quickly.
Had good news the other day. Was transferred to the Machine Gun Section for instruction & training. This means that I am still attached to "F" Company, but am liable to be called up for the M.G. Section should any members of that Section fall out. The time is very limited, so I must work hard, and get a good grip of all the work & drill. One thing Eric will be able to help me with this.
Unfortunately all the passes of Orderlies and Clerks (except Head Quarters) were cancelled
