neck & wept when he saw me, because he was the man who reported me dead in Egypt, in fact he was the man who told Em Smith, that I was dead. He saw me in the trench shortly after I got the crack on the head & thought I had gone right out to it. He was wounded shortly afterwards himself so did not have the pleasure of seeing me come to life again.

At times here one could easily imagine themselves back at the front. The rifle range is just at the back of the camp, the places for practising bomb throwing & Stokes gun, so when all these  - with machine guns as well - get going there is some noise.

There was quite a stir in camp on Friday. Andrew Fisher & Gen. Sir Newton Moore came down to have a look round. It was a very hurried look because they wanted to get round all the Australian camps, & they are very scattered. The other camps are, so far as I know, Tidworth, Lark Hill, Park House
