over three years since I last saw him, he has not altered just a bit. Have also found out that there are six men serving from the V.C. Mine. Two in this Battalion,1 in 4th two in second, & Patrick in R.A.M.C. [Royal Army Medical Corps].   Dealing with the same subject, I have met the late secretary of the N.S.W. Command of the Legion of Frontiersmen. He is in the machine gun section of the 4th battalion.

I am still attached to the machine gun section of this battalion. Mr Burns the O.C. of "F" Company has been promoted to Brigade Machine Gun Officer, & Mr Behren €“ our second Lieut.  €“ is being trained as a supernumerary M.G. officer. That makes two out of three officers from our company picked out of the whole brigade (four battalions). It is a great honour for our officers, but we all hope that we won't lose them for some time, or better still not at all.

The third battalion has received additional honour. It has been picked out to represent the 1st Infantry Brigade during the official ceremony of the British annexation of Egypt. The heads I think, must be expecting some little trouble, because all leave of all forces has
