moving about getting them fixed up.
However to continue with the tale of Mr Chinn. Naturally having spent twenty years of his life in this country his home is full of evidence of his sojourn here. He has things there which would probably cost 600% more than what he gave for it. It is only since tourists started coming here that prices have risen so. He told us of a man some years ago who spent thirteen months in making a beautiful inlaid octagonal table. All he asked for it was £20 this included his time materials and profit. Such a table would probably cost £200 nowadays. Then a mans wages was only 2 P.T. per day.
Beaten brass work the Egyptians can turn out in many pretty and fanciful designs. Chinn has a few very good samples of this work. One in particular took my fancy. It was a large round tray made to serve as a table top.
Without an effort I believe I could spent three months in his library without coming out. Besides being large it is arranged as only a student and a well read man could arrange it. We had to wait some little time for our host to arrive (he works on Sundays)
