night to see me properly tucked in. He has put curtains over the window & carpet on the floor. Goodness only knows where he got the latter from. Probably from auction sales in the villages, for I never have to pay much for anything he gets.
Yesterday afternoon Gen. Sir Newton J. Moore, Gen Ryrie & a number of Australian members of parliament came here to inspect the camp & men. It was an awful turnout more like an electioneering meeting than an inspection. Every member spoke & yet not a single one asked the men how they were or if they wanted anything. Each one started with the stereotyped phrase "I bring you greetings etc" & then hastily put in a few words for themselves. They only stayed about a quarter of an hour after keeping the men waiting on the parade ground an hour pending their arrival.
I have heard from Will Keogh. He shortly expects to get off his present boat, so is going to write again soon to give me his new address.
The photo you enclosed of Capt Pye is of the same man I met at Gibraltar & Lemnos.
