54. Embarkation on to A10 of the 3rd and 2nd Battalions 4th April 1915. The A10 was the "Durfflinger". A German passenger boat plying between Hong Kong and Berlin. It was taken as a prize ship early in the war.

61. 3rd Batt. bivouacked on beach between Gaba Tepe and Fisherman's Hut after the 1st four days. We were only on the beach a day and a half when we were recalled to the firing line, as the R.M.L.I. (Royal Marine Light Infantry) who had relieved us were in difficulties. We went back and they were taken out and sent somewhere else. €“ to the Southern Forces I believe.
