to us. To speak correctly one would say I "scratched you" a card and not "I wrote you" a card. To communicate seems it is only necessary to scratch out the already printed sentences that are not required. For instance, if well and hearty, I would scratch out the "I am in hospital" sentence and so on. It is just like being in a polling booth.
The other day I came across three more men from the old V.C. Mine. It looks as though a very big proportion of the late employees are serving the colours.
The last letter I had from Atkinson states that he was putting on 40 more men. That looks good for the mine & district.
Letters from now on will probably be irregular, and all interesting news must wait until I return.
