My dear Mother,
I received your letter alright, also one from Mr. Tandy stating he received the 5/- for the ticket. I managed to go out to see Ray Bayliss, and stayed the night with him, because I could not get a train till Monday morning. He is looking very well, though his wife is a little run down at present. They have a nice little cottage at Hawthorne. The box was alright at the wharf.
If Mrs. Cape does go to England I hope she will see fit to take Elsie with her. It will be an opportunity for her to see a little of the world. At present I do not need any money. I still have nearly £2 so don't send any unless I ask for it which I'm not likely to do for a while at any rate. I'm glad Harry brought the books home, there will be quite a library there when I get back. I can't remember at present who
