I suppose the birthday honour lists have already appeared in the Austn. papers. Cols. Wall & Abbott received C.M.Gs. Roy Callister, an old Ballarat boy, received the M.C.

As I shall be proceeding overseas so soon, I am taking things much easier here, than if I were going to stay on. It is hardly worth while picking up the threads again just for a few days.

On Thursday I lunched with No.1 A Group to say goodbye to Capt Reed (late G.S.O. [General Staff Officer] to that Group). I think I often mentioned him in my letters, written at No.1 Command Depot. Reed is off to rejoin his regiment
