[Following on from Page 261]

I am afraid there is not very much news. I have not been able to get out yet, and life in a ward is pretty monotonous.

One thing we get is a fair number of books & I read all day long. The Dr is very decent & has brought me some decent books instead of trashy novels.

The midshipman in the bed next to mine is a very decent young chap & I often have a very long yarn to him for a change from reading. He was in the Majestic when she was torpedoed. It must have been a great experience. Mr Ashmead Bartlett the special war correspondent out here from England was also
