a very fine stela with the statue of Mera standing in its recess. The two names Meseruk & Mera are both used for this tomb. It seems to have been the custom in this dynasty to have a so-called "good name" & another for ordinary use. "Mera" was the good name of this man.

Another interesting wall picture shows Mera painting and what is more he is using a notched easel. Many of the other paintings show men at various kinds of employment, carpentering, sculpturing, fishing, butchering etc.

Part of this tomb is set apart for Mera's wife and another part for his son. The writings on the
