desert. The train follows approximately the course of the Nile. Almost before we had alighted from the train we were mobbed by donkey boys. The quickest way to get attended to is to kick the whole bunch out of the way and bargain with their sheik alone. I ought to mention here that Sakkarah is almost one hour's ride from Bedrashun, hence the donkeys. It is really marvellous what these little animals stand. They look so small, in fact are, that when a big man mounts it appears only a question of time, when its back will break.
