On Friday morning Gens Birdwood & Moore came out here to inspect the men and the Camp. He seemed very pleased with everything. When he was returning the men lined the road and gave him a few real good cheers.
I would not be surprised if this camp does not last very long. There are a lot of rumours that we are to be shifted to some other site as at Salisbury or Weymouth.
Yesterday afternoon I took a run up to Epping. The forest is glorious at present. All the trees are putting on their spring clothes. It is a beautiful sight to see the sun shining through the light-green leaves. It gives everything a wonderful soft appearance.
I will shortly be sending you a few more photos & also another section of my diary which I would like you to keep on one side for me.
Love to all.
Your affect. son
Ralph
