of the leading hotels in Egypt. It is well appointed and furnished with a large swimming bath, billiard table, library etc. Even golf links are advertised, but I have not seen these yet, and judging from the country should judge them to be something like those we played on at Cobar.

The ward that James is in was previously the dining room. It is a large square room with a slightly raised gallery running all around. In the centre of the ceiling is a large air shaft, surrounded by carved wooden stalactitic work, so that the hole has more the appearance of an ornament than an air shaft.
