Later:- Have had a rotten time on guard. What with a hot dusty day, an icy cold night, and about eighteen prisoners in the guard tent, one does not get much peace. It is only natural, that in such a number of young men as are stationed here, the majority of whom are clambouring for adventures there are many who cannot or will not adapt themselves to the discipline necessary to run soldiers in an orderly fashion: & who therefore frequently find themselves in the guard tent.
