My dear Mother,

You see this Camp is still in existence, though we were given to understand in starting it, that it was only going to last a very short time.

There have been some quick changes here during the week. I think I told you before that Lieut. Jones' (Q.M.) wife was stopping at the same place - Bindern Villa - in Wool as Jane. On Tuesday night Jones arranged a little dinner party to which Maj. Pye, Capt Cook, Jane & I were invited. Just as we were about to start from Camp a wire came ordering Jones off to France at once. The only thing for him to do was to pack up & follow us down & catch the late train that night. Poor Mrs. Jones was upset at him being called away so suddenly. The best is to come though. When Jones landed in Boulogne a wire was waiting for him to return to England again & he is now back with us. In the meantime Mrs Jones having nothing to keep her in Wool, left for Weymouth.
