Durrington Camp.
1. 4. 17.

My dear Mother,

A letter from you at last, also one from Eric. 4 papers came by the same mail, so I shall have quite a lot of Austn. news to read thro. What frightful floods they had in Queensland.

On Saturday I had a note from Basil. He obtained my address from Joe. I have to go to London tomorrow, so if I have time I am going to try & see him. I will only be away the one day, so will not have very much time to spare. Jane is comin going up with me in the morning but will stay the night with her friend
