My dear Mother,
A couple of letters from you this week and one to say Eric had arrived. How pleased you must all be to see him again. I am so glad to hear that he seems so much more contented. He is probably well on his way to England again. It would be nice if he were here for Xmas & I could get a few days off. Jane is very anxious to meet him. She would feel then that she was a bit more acquainted with the family. I wonder what Eric will say when he knows I am married. The first he will know of it will be when I tell him myself, unless he gets any of your letters on the way. I am wondering what you will say yourself when you get the news. You see I am waiting anxiously for your remarks.
Jane is thinking of going to France next week to be present at her brother's wedding & also to see her parents, whom she has not seen for about a year.
