took a considerable number of prisoners. The Turks must have suffered very severely, in places they were lying 5 & 6 days in the bottom of the trenches. All Friday night the Turks counter attacked using bombs in galore. Just at daylight was the worst time when, from the nature of our position, they opened fire on us from two sides and the front. It was then we lost most of our men & when I was wounded.
This is the only bit of paper I have now but will write more fully next time.

My address is now Lt. R.I. Moore 3rd Batt. etc.   No number now.
