will have the same trouble in obtaining their back money as those men did who served in the Boer war. It is a fact that there are some of these men who are not paid up yet. No man now is being paid more than two shillings per day, even though he signed on to draw the lot. This new rule has only come into force since we left the boat. The men weren't considered in the matter at all. The order was simply given out & they had to abide by it. For this reason alone, I am glad that I am leaving the major portion behind. I will be certain of that much
