get a picture at all
41. Small Egyptian boy presenting arms. This little chap comes round the camp & gets a lot of backsheesh, because he is never caught in any order with the rifle. He stood at the present for his photo because I gave him ½ P.T. He is practically making his living in this way.
42. Self. You will notice dress is different to when we left Australia. Short pants are worn by most of the Companies. They are grand in the hot weather. The caps are not worn out on parade during the day as they do not give sufficient shade for the head.
43. The Church el Haram Avenue taken from Mena House.
44. This picture shows the load the poor donk has to carry at times. This is an average load. On top of this I have often seen the native [indecipherable] sitting.
45. Camel & calf. The cow camel has a muzzle on as it becomes very savage whilst it has a calf at its side.
46. Train of loaded camels.
47. Sakkeyeh [sakieh].
48. Egyptian girl with water buffalo.
Will now close with love to all
