is one thing that is like a magnet. You must complete the simile by adding me as a steel filing!
I run in & out of No.10 when I get the chance - not often - for I'm 'normously busy. Next week for instance on Monday night I'm going to hear Madame Evelyn Scotney sing (she's a second Melba - glorious voice) Tuesday I'm going to rehearsal for our Choral Class concert - Mendelsohns [Mendelssohn] (bust the spelling) "Athalie" & Bach's "Christmas Oratorio" Wednesday I'll be home. Thursday I worry a Professor of French by trying to say what I mean in the present instead of past tense & Friday bet you sixpence - I'll have to work late! Just fancy what happened last week. I haven't done shorthand for ages & they hauled me into a board meeting to take down notes "VERBATIM" - I nearly fell thro' the floor, & made a hash of the first part, & gradually got used to the notion of it. I was thankful when I emerged. Golly - I was hot - instead of being a dull cool day I'd have sworn it was 110° in the shade.
