I have still here the box for Mother & at it I look every day somehow I feel reluctant to trust it to the post but am inclined to think that I will be compelled shortly to do so. I put it into a sock to save the edges.

Did the tin box of odds & ends arrive, its worth a whole heap of money intrinsically only of course, when you learn its origin & after the war read of the war you will be pleased to have them. I picked them up underneath the ruins of the tower - see the P.C. - of a beautiful building - sent a few weeks ago.

Old Fritz provided me with considerable amusement translating his newspapers they pass on the evening fine, in my where lives the interpreter who is good enough to help me with the idioms and hard words. Today he gave me one of his badges for you, the "Belgium lion", I enclose it with this letter.

I am also enclosing a French coin 2½d., it is interesting over the R.F. ("Republican Francaise") you will note the cap worn after the French Revolution they were red in colour. The meaning of the words on the other side is Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.
