scabbard to darken it a little. I am also glad to hear that you have the diver picture, it's the only one I have, the original was lost. By this time you will have received a whole lot of P.C.s of London & the Art Galleries I do hope they arrived safely.
Your little drinking mug, chocolate, tobacco & cake & sugar arrived yesterday, I am awfully sorry to add that the cake had turned mouldy but everything else was tres bon.
What do you think of the odds & ends enclosed in my letters, it is a most convenient method for sending small things home & must increase your interest in the letters.
I am still keeping a diary, very brief it may be still it enables me to follow & keep track of time & events, usually here we do not know whether it is Sunday or Monday or any old day, to keep a diary is not easy particularly after a tiring day, although however I think it is worth while, again here is a certain amount of risk for it may fall into enemy hands, we have always to consider this & so should you, should any soldiers diary come your way particularly so if it has been kept by an officer.
