queer little things that look like porcupines but have fur on. They are getting round their case catching grassshoppers which are conveniently hopping in the grassy undergrowth. These creatures are about 6 or 7 inches long & I can't think of their name - I'll have a look before I stop scribbling & put it in here. Oh they're sort of related to the bandicoot & rejoice in the name of Choerpus castanotus!

We've got a bonza genuine Maori Tiki too - so I hear - where its worth comes in you'll have to ask somebody else. I like it for its quaintness - but I wouldn't give a "tenner" for it & I believe some are worth more than that! Skulls seem to me more sense - aren't I badly educated?

The museum people had an expedition up to Cooper's Creek last Nov. but they didn't get as much as they hoped - for instance - they didn't find any more remains of your favourite "chappie" the Diprotodon Australis!

Since I made up my mind I'd drop you a line we've had an earthquake - I s'pose you've heard Mr. Howchin's Theory of S.A. earthwork disturbances! It's quite nice to feel that they aren't of volcanic origin & only due to nice harmless settlements of layers of a rift valley. Fancy St. V.
