My dear Mother, Father & Sister,
I have not heard from you for some time, almost a fortnight, not that I worry at all, but I look forward to the mail.
We have not heard yet when we are going away, everything is ready and we look forward to the change. The "Osterley" is not yet in Sydney but we expect her to arrive early next week.
As I write, a great cyclonic storm has just finished. It came for a moment and did its best to tear one tent into shreds. It is tip top living in tents & really I don't know how I will take to living in a house again.
Last week we went into bivouac sleeping & working entirely in the open air, fortunately the weather was good. My company thoroughly enjoyed it. It meant a great deal of work as I had to requisition for everything for the 3 days from food to odds & ends, to tools & organising everything. I laugh when I remember a couple of sick, the medicine got mixed & I gave a chap with pains in the head the stuff for one who
