My dear Mother, Father & Sister,
I am forgetting all about Xmas, it will soon be here, of course here as with you the weather has been unseasonable, great rains have fallen & they continue wetting of the crops and doing some harm.
This week we are having a theater evening to assist the 'Eng. Comforts fund'. I expect that most of the men from my Company will be there. On Monday next Major Hockings will formally present 'B' Co. with its flag - its a real beauty - & will do much to encourage the spirit of comraderie among the men. After the presentation we march away to get a photo - one of which you will receive later. They're jolly good chaps & it is a pleasure to be with them. The wag of the Company composed the enclosure - I laughed when I saw it. They're going to sing it at our theatre party. I'll bet 'B' Co. will lift the roof. We are now doing engineering work &
