My dear Malcolm,
Your letter has just arrived. We were so pleased to hear from you & to know that you did not forget to have a kindly thought for your old friends at Christmas time. It seemed such a long time to wait for a letter but I suppose you have so many to write and so little time to write that some have to wait. Am glad you received The Bulletin. Yours is the first that has ever been answered & I have posted dozens. You did not mention your cake but perhaps it had not arrived when you wrote.
We still have dear old Ma with us her health varies very much she is still quite helpless but we take her our in a wheel chair as much as possible. Driving of course is out of the question she could not stand the jolting. We have not used our horse for over a year so I guess he will be fairly wild when he is put into harness again.
