entirely in "No Mans Land", went out one night with a fighting Patrol real jolly work unfortunately we only saw dead fritzies, for two nights my parties dug trenches 500 yards ahead of our front line & the work was carried out without even a single machine gun bullet coming over - most excellent & also exciting, as a matter of fact I think "No Mans Land" a very safe place at night.

Just now I am writing in a cellar, the home above has been a beautiful one but is now all spoiled much of the good stuff has been removed - looting & what is left is scattered over the floors jolly shame.
