My dear Mother Father & Sister
I have just had a 90 mile journey to see Ron Scott, its been done on trains, motor bike, buses & shanks pony, had a jolly good time & considering the rain everything passed off well. The hospital is by the sea & within 4 hours of leaving camp I was yarning to Ron it was good to hear "hello Stan" as I wandered thro the ward looking for him, poor chap he had seen me first, actually I suppose I was the last fellow in the wide world he had expected to see & it must have done him a power of good. I had a presentiment that I would see him & took hold of the first opportunity viz - "the permission of the Major to be absent for a night". Of course it is a military crime to wander outside of our area & goodness knows what would have happened had I been "copped" hence my
