Just now I have a cushy little job looking after 4 woods, making records of timber cut & reporting on quantities, it will last untill we move away from this sector.  Each day I just take a walk round the woods & have a yarn with whomsoever may be so inclined.  Fritz nearly copped us the other morning but he might as well have heaved his shells miles away.

As I completed the above paragraph the artillery suddenly opened up, I went outside to have a look, the valley & little hills around are full of flashes a 6" about 100 yds from one dug out nearly knocks us over every time it goes off, bits of earth drop down each time from the roof.
