No. 14 General Hospital
December 12th, 1917

Dear Stan,

You are a very good correspondent & I received a letter from you last week & this afternoon along comes yours 7th inst.

Thanks for writing letting me know how things are with you. I was very amused over your previous letter & the aviator dropping French war papers over you - about the French quotations you inserted for I don't know a word of the Froggie lingo.

Glad to hear of old Willie. Had letters from & replied to both him & Finch a few days ago.

Fancy hearing from Houston - with his very neat greeting.

By the way I forgot to reply to a question of yours in a previous letter. You asked whether you should send Anne Dunn details of Cecil's grave. I think she would be very pleased to hear about it & glad to know some friend had gone to the trouble of searching it out.

Hope you managed to get a good spell out of the line this time. Fancy Knight Capt. & M.C., I suppose he deserved 'em.  Burnell a click clinking chap in 2nd Divy has just got his Captaincy & goes back his old Coy viz, the 5th in Steele's place.  Dumas is still in England when the Mjr wrote.
