wondered if that book posted to Florrie has anything to say about him (Highways and byways of East Anglia) dig it up and have a look, somehow I have a recollection that Elmstead is mentioned, the map at the end of the book will give the locality. I spelt "Wormingford" on the back of a photo wrongly, I fancy I used Birmingford.
We have not heard from Australia for a long time & the loss of the mails will mean another spell - but your letters come along, they possibly come via Frisco, anyway they get here regularly for which I am grateful, somehow I think it would be a good practice to continue sending them via Stroud, they will always know exactly where I am.
This inactivity here is trying & I long to get out of it, my name is on the list as "warned for overseas" so it won't be long.

We have had another heavy shower just bonser and with exactly the same results as yesterday. Same old streams too. Yesterday was some saints day and the old ledg myth states that if it rains on that day it will rain for 40 consecutive days - its made a good start anyway.
