At Sea
R.M.S. "Osterley"
My dear Mother Father & Sister
I was just looking at your photos & thinking how happy you looked, it was jolly good of you to send them I cut them down so that I could carry them with me.
I am keeping a diary which you will receive from time to time of course it will have to be from free points - because of the censorship.
We saw the last of Australia a number of days ago - a faint haze from one of the lighthouses below the horizon - I walked round the deck purposely to see it & I'm glad I did, I wondered if I should see it again, in the out of way places I have spent many & many a charming hour & I would have given a great deal to have hopped over the stern and gone back.
Just now we are crossing one of the great oceans, just a saucer of ocean water everywhere and we sail towards the horizon the whole of the time &
