stay in town was brief. I longed to make a voyage of discovery round the ancient fortification but this I must postpone for a later visit, jumping on my bike I made a bee line for home, it went to pieces half way so I pushed it to a railway station, had lunch with N.Z. officers & when a train came along we lifted the bike up onto the tender & heaved it among the coal. I rode on the loco & yarned to the driver in French, arrived home at 9 pm throughly happy after my trip, it was good to see Scott again & to see him looking so well, I have no doubt that he will be sent home, hurrah!
Vera Nappy sent me a parcel containing all sorts of nice odds & ends it was jolly kind of them.
Another parcel arrived this morning from a sister of Mr Gill, you will remember he came over with me.
