days in Tasmania. Mr Casely was a minister & died suddenly some 4 years ago - so I was glad to see them all again. With Mum & her sister I went to church, it was glorious to sit again in Kent Town Church, it is one of the most beautiful I know. But oh! you should have seen the faces of my old friends when they came in & saw me sitting there. Of course I was in full regimentals. The Rooneys got a great surprise. Mr Lloyd gave the sermon & after church I had a romping time greeting my old friends, finally Mrs Scott piloted me to her home & would have me stay there during my leave - in Ronald Scott's room - they have a very nice home & were awfully good to me. One thing has impressed me & its the great kindness I have received from all the people I know. Words fail to express the great thankfullness I feel to all of them & I sincerely regret that you do not know them. One hears that the world is cold & hard but I must gratefully remark that I have not found it to be so.
After dinner I cruised over to my old Landlady's. She did give me a real royal welcome, she has written to me constantly & the boys fairly sprung round me. I enjoyed quite a long talk with her about everything from the potatoes upwards.
For tea I returned to Mrs Scott's & they had invited "Mum" & the Miss Caseleys so it seemed like old times again. Mum was delighted to have me near here again, she said it was just fine to see me again she hadn't smiled so
