I suppose on mail days my letters come in heaps, often I have written when I ought not to have done as for instance immediately after or during a stunt.  There are lots of phrases of the war it is better for you not to learn, still I suppose letters keep something of a continuous record anyway they help to pass on our time & goodness knows it seems to go mighty slowly.

Today I enjoyed a pleasant walk in rear of our lines & saw lots of interesting items, one a steel tree used during a stunt, it was a clever reproduction, couldn't tell the difference 10 yards away.

Cruising around is one of the great privileges of the engineer.
