so much for weeks. After tea we went to church, I heard the Honor Roll read - Scott & my names came together. Communion service followed. I am fortunate on being able to spend a Sunday in Adelaide at all. After church I went down to the Rooneys. Mr Rooney happened to be home so everything fitted in well. After taking "Mum" home it was quite late when I got back to the Scotts. I sent a photo of "Mum" home - you may have seen it also one of the Rooneys in a little gold frame.
Monday morning I caught an early train to Glenelg & met again my old office staff it was good to see them again. I teased the office girl & had a yarn with Mr Stone who later showed me over the works. Fair was there & I reckon he felt pretty small, he was going to enlist but turned tail. We had lunch at the Pier hotel with a Sydney engineer & afterwards motored to the Summit of Mount Lofty. The ranges are delightful and the scenery baffles description, each little hollow is tilled, vines and fruit trees & the little houses dotted here and there make long pictures which are good to look upon. We called in at two of the gardens and enjoyed strawberries & cream, I left the party in town and returned to Mrs Scotts for tea.
